由雷·米兰德领衔主演电影《痴心女子负心郎》高清在线观看,剧情内容以剧情 犯罪为核心描述了Writer Joseph Shearing specialized in adapting real cases from Victorian England for fictional purposes. His novel "Moss Rose" in 1947 was the first to be adapted into a film, followed by two more adaptations in 1948, including the one described in the content. The film follows a recently widowed missionary, played by Todd, returning to England from Jamaica. During the voyage, she encounters Milland, a charming yet dangerous man wanted by the police for unsavory dealings. Milland falls ill with malaria on the ship, and Todd nurses him back to health.
Upon settling in London, Todd takes in boarders to make ends meet, only to have Milland show up and confess his love for her. Despite Todds joy, it becomes clear that Milland may be manipulating her. When Milland discovers incriminating letters written by Todds friend Fitzgerald, he sees an opportunity for blackmail. Todd, deeply in love with Milland, agrees to the plan. However, their scheme unravels when Huntley, Fitzgeralds wealthy spouse, learns the truth and exposes Millands past.
In a desperate attempt to protect Milland, Todd poisons Huntley and remains silent as Fitzgerald is wrongfully arrested for the murder. As Todd and Milland plan to flee England, a former lover of Millands appears, triggering a jealous outburst from Todd that results in tragedy. Todd ultimately turns herself in to the police.
The film is known for its intricate storytelling and strong performances, especially from Milland who excels in his role as the manipulative character. Despite primarily working in the US, Milland returned to the UK for this production, marking his first British film since 1939. Director Allen, also originally from England, made his directorial debut in his homeland with this film. It was the fourth and final collaboration between Milland and Allen, whose partnership began in 1944 with the acclaimed "The Uninvited."
